Located in south-east Siberia, the 25 million year old Lake Baikal is the oldest and the deepest (around 1640 meters) lake in the world. It contains 20% of the world’s total unfrozen freshwater reserve. Also known as the ”Galapagos of Russia” its age and isolation has produced one of the world’s richest and most unusual freshwater faunas. Two thirds of the plants and animals that Lake Baikal has to offer are completely unique and can be found nowhere else in the world. Baikal is also recognized as one of the most clearest lakes in the world where almost all tourist who visit the place are stunned by the clear water. When in Russia you should definitely visit this place. In winter time, the lake is covered by the thick layer of ice, so people often make roads over the lake for shortcuts, but you can also find some creative drawings (see the pictures below).
The largest fish in Baikal is the sturgeon (Acipenser baerri baicalensis), which grows 1.8m (6ft) long and weighs more than 100kg (2201bs), also well known in Baikal world are the Baikal Seal or nerpa (Pusa sibirica), omul (Coregonus autumnalis migratorius), Baikal oil fish or golomyanka (Comephorus baicalensis), the Baikal grayling (Thymallus arcticus baicalensis). Nerpa is one of only three entirely freshwater seal populations in the world, the other two being subspecies of Ringed Seal.
Almost everybody has tried snowboarding, but there is a much bigger challenge waiting for you called volcano boarding. It is one of the most craziest sports ever. You have to go to Nicaragua’s Cerro Negro mountain (black mountain) in central America – the only place in the world where you can surf down an active volcano. You will have a chance to fly down the 2,380 ft high Cerro Negro on a specially designed wooden (or metal) board reaching speeds of up to 50 mph (80 km per hour). Even though the sport itself is very dangerous there is also a known fact that the volcano has already erupted 20 times to date, the last time being back in 1999. This slope is 41 degrees at its steepest and the climb to the top takes around 45 minutes. This is what makes this very extreme and if you ever try it you will surely feel your adrenalin rushing like never before. When you have achieved coming down this mountain without any fear you will be able to try anything else this planet has to offer. The cost of this experience is 23 dollars plus 5 dollars (all together around 21 euros) national park entrance, includes all equipment, transport, and 2 free mojitos, beer and snacks on return to the bar. The things you should bring along are water, a camera and a pair of sturdy shoes. Protective gear, like jump suits and goggles must be used for safety reasons.

Whenever you need to get away from the city life, work, problems and such, there will be a heaven waiting for you. It is places like these that you need to save money for. It is the simple nature of this place that keeps the tourists coming. Maldives is an island nation, in the Indian Ocean, formed by a double chain of 26 atolls that consists of 1190 small islands of which only 200 are inhabited. While most come just to relax, there are also recreational activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, undersea coral watching, water scooters, windsurfing and more. The Maldives is one of the world’s premier scuba diving destinations, because of the abundance of amazing white sand beaches, coral reefs, clear warm waters, many scuba diving sites and rich marine life. You can also choose to have an adventure by renting a boat and search for peace, or have a picnic in the middle of the ocean. Visitors to Maldives do not need to apply for a visa pre-arrival, regardless of their country of origin, provided they have a valid passport, proof of onward travel, and the money to be self-sufficient while in the country. The capital city, Malé, is the only location where the foreign and domestic populations are likely to interact. The tourist resorts are not on islands where the natives live, and casual contacts between the two groups are discouraged.

If you love skiing and you are ready to take it to the next level, then speed riding is perfect for you. It may not come off as dangerous as it seems to be if you are riding through the clear area, but if you want to make it more extreme there are paths on steep mountains that make you go crazy. The biggest risk of an injury is hitting a stone or a tree, but what you experience during the ride is worth the danger. Just imagine yourself jumping and gliding from one downhill to another with your ski. Ofcourse there is a special Speed Glider on your back to slow your movement, but it does not make this attraction less extreme. The Speed Glider is similar, but only half the size of a paraglider. So these small wings are designed to make you closer to the ground, at speeds of 20 to 90 miles (30 to 145 kilometres) per hour. The price of the wing ranges from $1500 to $2000 while the weight goes from 2 to 4 kilograms. Proper equipment such as helmets, padded harnesses, and reserve parachutes can help reduce injuries. Advanced wing and ski trainings are an important requirement for this sport. So if you don’t know where to spend your next holiday, try finding some ski resort for obtaining a new experience.
Below you can see some more cool photos displaying the sport along with a video.

Climbing Mont Blanc is a great challenge and definitely a great adventure, but from early spring to November the weather is perfect for something more challenging, climbing the mountain (which reaches the height of 4,810 meters/15,782 ft) with a paraglider and then crossing the terrain and coming down by the flying method. There are numerous ways to climb Mont Blanc. The most common route taken by paragliding pilots is from the Aiguille du Midi. If you are experienced in this sport then you have a choice of landing in Italy, France or Switzerland, because you have enough time to think about landing options, since there is an hour of gliding along the Massif du Mont Blanc. Of course you have to be informed and careful because the weather can change very fast, so always check the forecast(although they can’t always give you correct info about the winds). Also you need to know some basic information like:
– This mountain is heavily crevassed and at high altitude. Crampons, ice axe and rope are essential.
– The temperature can be very cold so take warm clothing.
– Plenty of water should be carried. It is easy to become dehydrated quickly at altitude.
– Go with pilots who have high mountain skills. It is recommended taking a mountain guide.
Below you can see some cool photos and a video regarding this post.

Grand Canyon is the perfect place for people that love hiking, because it offers many stunning landscapes, and shows you the beauty of nature, and because of that it is also known as a big inspiration for artists. The Grand Canyon is an enormous national park located in Arizona. It is 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29 km) wide and attains a depth of over a mile (6,000 feet / 1,800 metres). There are many hospitable hotels that will gladly welcome you. Although the South Rim is the most accessible part of the park and is open all year, there’s a big attraction located at the West Rim, on the Hualapai Nation, called Skywalk, which is a half round bridge made of glass which reaches the height of 4000ft. You can have a great time on the skywalk watching traditional performances by Hualapai tribe members, taking a one-day white water rafting tour, landing in a helicopter at the bottom of the Grand Canyon or staying overnight in one of the cabins at the Hualapai Ranch. If you are hiking across the canyon, the South Kaibab Trail crosses the Colorado River on a narrow foot bridge 70 feet (21 meters) above the water. It is a 21 mile (34 km) hike to go from “Rim To Rim,” which is followed by a 1 mile (1.6 km) climb. That makes it an overnight hiking trip for most of the hikers. Colorado River is carved in the Grand Canyon and gives it its characteristic shape. It is believed that Colorado River established its course through the canyon at least 17 million years ago and ever Since then, the Colorado River continued to erode and form the canyon to its present day configuration.
